German 1940‘s brown pure wool pile coat by Paul Kemp & Sohn, Bonn

the epitome of teddy bear coats
with a huge (decidely Victorian in style) collar backed in the softest of velvets to keep the chill out (period collar images date to the late 1890s)
bell shaped velvet backed sleeve cuffs which can be turned down for additional warmth
The coat fastens with one large (Astor) velvet button, a further two smaller ones at the bodice (ribbon loop fastening) and an additional small button to attach the lapel to the collar
One dart to the back 26cm below the collar, which allows for a monumental sweep of 225cm/92.5in.
Two side pockets, sufficient in size for all wintery needs, large enough to fit your phone and keys
Fully lined (french seams) and beautifully hand finished
marked 'Reine Wolle' / pure wool
Paul Kemp & Sohn was founded in 1792 and was based at Bonngasse 21, next to Ludwig van Beethoven's place of birth (b. 1770) at Bonngasse 20
In 1912, Paul Kemp & Sohn moved to their new premises at In der Sürst 4
upon completion of the so called 'Münsterhaus', by architect Karl Thoma

small repair to the left lining arm hole, pinprick hole to lining where the velvet button is attached
